Catrick Toebeans was born in 1952 in Los Gatos, California to Pawl and Meowgaret Toebeans. Catrick had a difficult childhood as he was bullied because he was born without whiskers. His lack of whiskers made it much more difficult to gauge if an opening was big enough for his body to fit through, and as such, he got stuck many times in objects and doorways as a child. He had to be rescued on over a dozen occasions. His parents enrolled him in ballet to help him overcome this disability.

Catrick progressed slower than his fellow dancers but overcame this with hard work and dedication. By the time he reached high school, he had become the best dancer in his dance school. He starred in all his performances and was a top choice for both Barklee School of Meowsic and Purrchase College in New York.

Catrick chose to attend Barklee as one of the first male feline students to push himself and the boundaries of dance. He continued to face discrimination, but Catrick broke records, performing to record-breaking audience numbers. He proved himself in role after role. When starring in Romeow and Juliet he caught the eye of the Paris Opera Ballet, who offered him a leading spot after graduation. Learn more about Catrick and other famous cats, pushing the boundaries and breaking new ground at the Catacombs Museum.
